Singapore's rule of law in tatters

Singapore's court and AG have been increasingly unable to be impartial, especially during the past few years. It seems more and more that our draconian laws are only there to target the most disadvantage groups of people.

In addition, time has change and as we become more globalized, it has become more difficult for such draconian laws, that have once so effective in terrifying the citizens, to apply itself appropriately in vastly complex situations.

Ammo trafficking case hush up
Australia NT News reports.
Jessica Powter, 34, of Katherine, was facing a mandatory five-year jail term after unwittingly bringing the two 8cm-long bullets used to shoot buffalo into Singapore - but she was let off with a warning.

Only then, our prostitute MSM follow up. CNA reportsAn Australian woman was reportedly detained for 23 hours here after two rounds of live ammunition were found in her camera bag when she arrived at Changi Airport on Oct 12 last year.
......
Responding to TODAY's queries, a police spokesman confirmed that "an Australian woman was arrested at Changi Airport Terminal One on Oct 12 at about 1.35pm for an offence of unlawful possession of arms or ammunition".

The spokesman added: "After careful consideration of the facts and circumstances of the case, and in consultation with the Attorney-General's Chambers, she was issued with a warning in lieu of prosecution."

Singapore's ARMS OFFENCES ACT (CHAPTER 14) states
any person who is in unlawful possession of any arm or ammunition shall be guilty of an offence and shall on conviction be punished with imprisonment for a term of not less than 5 years and not more than 10 years and shall also be punished with caning with not less than 6 strokes.

A clear trespass of Arm Offences Act
Jessica Powter has clearly transgressed the Arm Offences Act. However in her case, the rule of Law did not apply. For certain strange reasons, AG decided against hauling her to court, even such offence incurs mandatory 5 years inside the cage.

Besides, all were hushed up. It was not until the Australia newspaper reporting that everyone are aware of the case. Such things are going to be more frequent in the future. Some foreigners break our law, PAP let them off hook. These foreigners then tell their stories in their homeland MSM. PAP get ever more discredited in the eyes of Singaporeans.

PAP is a bully towards citizens but a bootlicker facing foreigners.
